ShahnonDotCom version 7.0
New layout is up! It's a 16 minutes layout design. I changed the layout just for the sake of changing it. Nothing much. And for the first time 'White' is the chosen background color. As you can see there's some orange flavour in it. Seems that I just can't make do without the orange color. hehe.. I've finally sorted out the links page and added a new link, MySMS plus on the right, a new shoutbox! wuhooo! :D

Here's something interesting.
Do you know that in this February, there are 5 Sundays? It happens once in 28 years. It will happen this year and next in 2032, 2060, 2088!

SPM Results
SPM exam results out tomorrow
THE Education Ministry will release the 2003 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia SPM) examination results at schools all over the country tomorrow.

So, the SPM results will be out tomorrow. It reminds me a lot of my/our time during our form 5 days. 3 years ago(February 2001), on the night of the 'Big Day', we(the Al-Amin and friends) gathered at Amri's house and performed solat hajat & makan-makan. And now it's been THREE years already! How quick time passed by.

All the memories are still fresh in my mind. Especially after watching again the Al-Amin vcd(second edition)! haha. Sometimes it's nice to sit back and remembering all the good times back in school days. Okay, I'll post some screenshots from the vcd.

Linguists say "like" has a growing number of meanings. It can act as a "hedge," to tell the listener that what is being said is an approximation or an exaggeration. (Example: "She has, like, a gazillion shoes.") It can also be a "focuser," to declare that the next bit of information is important. ("He is, like, so hot.") One of its most ubiquitous uses is as a substitute for "said." ("So my mom was like, 'Do your homework.' And then I was like, 'I did it at school.' ")

There is a range of tactics to combat all this. Some parents mimic their kids and "like" them right back. Fed-up English teachers are turning their classrooms into "like"-free zones. hmmm.. I guess it's the same for us, most Malays who uses a lot of 'macam' or in short, just 'cam'(cam bestt je itu itu dan ini ini blalala..) in daily conversation and even in class presentations too.
Like for example,

"mamat ni macam tak betul je.."
"ko pegi la dulu, aku cam tak berape sihat ni,"
"bende ni sensitif sket, ko cam tak leh nak gerak-gerak itu ini lalallla.."
"aku cam dah serba salah sekarang ni.. cam tak tau dah nak buat ape,"
"dia cam..blablala"

[haha, itu dia, serba sedikit contoh penggunaan ayat 'macam' dalam kehidupan seharian abad ke-21..hehe]

I'm sure many of you realised this and perhaps overuse the word 'macam' too don't you? Right? Maybe Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Malaysia(DBP) could give some sepatah dua kata on this.

My right brain
I've tried to answer this Brain quiz as honest as i could although i could somehow foresee what's the outcome result based on the questions given. Anyway here's my result.

Pak Guard dan Rokok
Scene : In my room with the door left wide open..

Suddenly i felt like there's someone standing at the door. As i turned my face towards the door, a security guard stood still by the door, smiling at me and said,

"leka chatting nampak.."
sambil tersengih-sengih macam kerang busuk 'jugak'

At first i didn't realised he's a security guard 'cos he was wearing a dark coloured jacket, zipped up to the neck. I looked at him and asked,

"er, ada apa-apa ke?"

And he didn't straight away answer me, but instead he kept on smiling and gave me the you-know-what-i-want kinda smile. macam orang tak betul je.. I was so blur at this moment and it took him for quite some time to finally open his mouth, and at last he spoke out,

"..tu rokok atas meja tu siapa punya? mintak sebatang boleh?"
(dalam hati : chehhhh, tahpahape nye Pak Gad!)
and I answered,
"rokok kawan saya ni,"

From the look and smile on his face, i can see that he didn't believe that the cigarette wasn't mine. I was quite reluctant to gave him the Marlboro cigarette box, as it was not mine, it's mateng's and mateng was already asleep by then. But it seems that i have no other option left and so i took the cigarette and when i opened it, guess what! hahahaha! it's empty! kahkahkah..

I felt like wanted to laugh out at him! hahaha! but i just said to him that it's empty and showed to him proudly. hehe :D

He replied, "oh takpe takpe," and i thought he would leave my room straight away after that, but no! He kept on standing at the door and asked a few unrelevant questions (nak cover aa nih);

"ni bilik ni berapa orang duduk?"

"..masing-masing leka duk depan komputer ye?(looking at my roommate,ijam)"
(leka ape kejadahhnyee, member tengah buat assignment)

I just nodded at him silently and ignored him hoping for him to go away.. hohooho..

A case of "Harapkan pagar, pagar makan padi"?
..tu laa sape suruh mengharap kat pagar sangat.. Pagar memang tak boleh diharap! kehkeh :p

Masakan Pokok Bergoyang..
There's an old Malay saying, "Kalau tak ada angin, masakan pokok bergoyang", but now everyone have realised that the 'pokok' can 'bergoyang' by something else AND by self purpose too, like maybe there's someone trying to cut down the pokok or perhaps someone shaking the pokok or maybe someone using a huge fan to create the 'angin' in order to make the 'pokok bergoyang' or even it could be someone who are jealous of seeing his/her neighbour's pokok which are bigger, taller and bearing more fruits and as a result he/she try to create an 'angin from nowhere to make the 'pokok' bergoyang' and subsequently maybe the 'pokok' could collapse. Make sense? but then again, if there is a natural 'angin' blowing near the 'pokok', then you have to agree with the old saying. hoho.

er, did i actually explained the meaning of it or did i confused myself and you? ahahe, nevermind. Crap.

My firasat seems to weighted more on 'believing' the Normala-Sultan Ahmad Shah gossip. I don't exactly know how or why i said this. Let's just wait for the upcoming news on this. but heck, kalau tak betul pun lantaklah, peduli apa..ahaha. i like to make predictions and stuff like that.hehh.

Learning ilmu firasat and astrology is among one of my interest. My Guru(chewahh..shahnon ni ade Guru?) once told me that most Malays in the early years(tak tahu sejak bila, tapi dulu-dululaaaa) used to rely on firasat in deciding/selecting who should be their son/daughter-in-law. But those days, the parents seldom share their ilmu firasat to their child, so that's why not many of us are able or interested in learning firasat. I have this book by Syed Hussein Al-Attas(not the Professor, but the author), entitled 'Firasat Rahsia Mengenal Diri Sendiri'. But this book are mainly about 'Rahsia Mengenal Diri Sendiri' not more than that. hehe. Sape nak pinjam bagitau la ye. ehe.

Tiga Budak Hostel

Situasi : 3 budak hostel masing-masing sedang mengadap komputer dalam bilik seperti biasa seperti mana yang dilakukan oleh kawan-kawan MMU yang lain. Kadang-kadang tu bila tak ada kerja(padahal kerja memang berlonggok-longgok. bukan setakat berlonggok-longgok lagi dah ni, dah sampai melimpah-limpah ke negeri jiran.hohoho), klik yahoo messenger, tengok siapa online, baca status kawan-kawan dalam senarai yahoo messenger kita(haha, mesti ramai yang makan cili ni sebab kalau tak makan cili mesti tak rasa pedas.hehee), tak pun bukak msn messenger, lepas tu tukar status msn, lepas tu pulak mungkin belek-belek folder-folder dalam pc ni. Update Windows ke, Norton ke, itu dan ini, blalala dan lalalla.

Freehand dan Photoshop, sekadar menamakan beberapa(konon hebat la), dah bukak dua tiga kurun lepas dah. masih macam tu jugak. esok ada consultation/submission baru nak 'apam' kelam kabut(tiru ayat Nisa. hehe :p) buat kerja. Lepas tu tiba-tiba rasa mengantuk. Pandang katil, katil pun melambai-lambai. Tak dapat nak tolak. Orang kata; orang kata, bukan saya kata, katil saya ni berpuaka, siapa baring kejap je pasti akan terlena! hehe. Oh terlupa, mungkin sempat kot nak update blog dulu ni.. Tak pasal-pasal habis satu hari. Wah panjangnya mukaddimah.

Ok ni sebenarnya yang nak cerita ni. Maaf banyak sangat melalut. Lawak yang tak lawak apabila dibaca. kohkohkoh.

ijam : kau esok ada kelas pagi? (ijam nak tanye mateng sebenarnye, tapi tanye tak sebut nama..)
shahnon : takde takde.. (entah macam mana secara automatik boleh terjawab)

mateng tak dengar tanyaan ijam sebab tengah pakai headphone sambil nyanyi lagu 'Robbie Williams - My Way' tapi tiba-tiba semacam terdengar suara orang bersembang dan mateng pun jadi tak keruan duduk di atas kerusi lantas menoleh kanan(shahnon) dan kiri(ijam) dua tiga kali.. ijam dah gelak dulu dah..

Saya pandang mateng, lepas tu pandang ijam, mateng ternganga-nganga pandang.. kahakahkah terus tergelak gelak!

Oo baru tahu.. Rupa-rupanya ijam nak tanya mateng, saya pulak terjawab. mateng tak dengar sebab tengah pakai headphone. blur seketika untuk setengah saat. Lepas tu semua gelak macam sial. erm, tak la sial sangat. kahkahakhkah..

Ok mungkin cerita ni bila dibaca balik dah tak lawak sebab korang takde dalam bilik untuk menyaksikan kejadian ataupun mungkin sebab kelemahan tuan weblog dalam melaporkan kejadian. Dalam kes macam ni, Mukeh sememangnya champion! ehehe.. tapi takpela janji lawak untuk kitorang tiga dan saya pun saje je la nak merekodkan insiden ni dalam blog ni. hohoo..

Anyone of you watched Buletin Utama news on TV3 today? Regarding the National Anti Smoking campaign which was launched by our Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the Putrajaya Convention Centre(PCC). Alright, I'm not gonna talk about what's the campaign was all about. What i wanted to write here is about the campaign theme song.

During the launch of the campaign ceremony, there's a group of primary schoolchildrens on stage sang the campaign theme song entitled, "Tak Nak!". It's kinda fun and catchy song.. I managed to take down the lyrics. hehee

Hudud Laws
Early this morning during our Islamic Studies lecture, we had an interesting short discussion/debate on the above mentioned topic. Well, it actually started off when stan aka redzuan(er or is it redzuan aka stan? :P)'s group 9 were delivering their presentation on the topic of 'Islamic Administration' when suddenly Ustaz Hazam decided to opened the floor to discuss this particular topic. Initially, the idea was to make the students speak out rather than just sit and listen to the presentation, but it turn out to be quite an interesting debate among us.

Ustaz Hazam asked about the students opinion regarding the implementation of the hudud laws in Malaysia without mentioning any political parties/states and such. I won't be elaborating much on this though but all i can say is that there were some supportive views and some oppose to it(maybe not exactly oppose it but have their own opinion) and Ustaz Hazam was very open in accepting all of our views. He is one cool and witty(is this the correct term?) Ustaz.

Haha, some of you might see this rather amusing and odd, FCM students discussing on Hudud Laws in class?? Anyway the mid term exam was ok i guess.

Hey, I accidentally found my blogspot weblog! nothing in it tough. hahah.. I almost forgot about it. I even had a diaryland blog, but i forgot the password. kahakah, and so eventually i decided on pitas blogger until now.

Damn it, I hate holidays on Thursday! Christmas and New Year holiday was on Thursday. Chinese New Year and Thaipusam too falls on Thursday! Ok don't get me wrong, I love holidays but this time around it's simply because I'm already on holiday on Thursday for this whole trimester. I have no class on Thursday! hehee.

She was buried next to her father-in-law’s grave, Abdullah Fahim Ibrahim at 3.30pm yesterday.

Ex-student wins case against varsity
MALACCA : A former student of the Multimedia University (MMU) has won his claim against the university in the consumer tribunal claim’s court.

Court president Eddie Yeo ruled yesterday that Tan Khang Loong, 21, need not pay the RM425 that the university was demanding from him through a private collection agency.

He also ruled that MMU would have to return RM210 to Tan – RM160 contribution to the student trust fund and the balance for the student identity card which he did not receive.

Tan was in MMU for three weeks in May last year before leaving for Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). [more news]

Two years old now!
Happy Birthday to my website(not to my blog and not to 'shahnon.com') It's been two years now.
Anyway, here's something to refresh you a bit.haha. Okay, it all started way back in late 2001 when i decided to make a website with the main purpose of compiling all my hundreds of photo collections into a webpage. Blog? if you asked me back then what is a blog? you can laughed at me. I don't know what the heck is blog. Online journal tu tau la..hehe. I only started blogging in mid-September 2002 by manual blogging for about seven months before i moved to Pitas.com somewhere in May 2003.

In February 2002(i forgot the exact date) there goes my first website on the internet, www.shahnon2020.cjb.net. And it lasted for nearly 20 months before i purchased this new domain shahnon.com last October. :)

Weekend Story
* Watched 'School of Rock' yesterday night with Farhan and Lionel. sangat sangat besh! You guys out there faster go and watch it!
* Ok, next. After my Eidul Adha prayers, me my family went to my Pak Long's house in Zoo Negara (read : Kemensah Heights) for makan-makan. phew, I ate quite a lot! Tapi takpa, sebab ada ketupat mai dari Aloq Staq ni! hehehe.. nyummy nyummy i love ketupat!
* While on my way back to campus, I spotted a few cows(ade la dalam 8-12 ekor kot) in Cyberjaya about a kilometre away from the MMU campus main gate, and i forgot to bring my digicam along! kalau dapat ambil gambar mesti bes. gile cyber lembu-lembu ni, lepas tu boleh bagi nama Cyber Cow. hohoho. ok, full stop.eNd.

Tahi sungguh! I've been receiving quite a number of e-mails from the email Postmaster with the subject of Undeliverable Mail(?) And when i checked, it reads;

Subject:NOTIFICATION virus found with subject
Warning: This message has had one or more attachments removed
Warning: (kzzwhj.zip).

hoho. So, if any of you received a suspecious e-mail from shahnon_2020@yahoo.com just delete it. Dammit i hate spammers.
